U.S. Sports Scholarships | Aussie Athletes Agency » Justin Brown Justin Brown Justin brings extensive experience to AAA as an alumni of the iconic University of Connecticut men’s basketball team. He was a part of the team that won the 1999 Division 1 NCAA National Championship against Duke University. Under legendary coach Jim Calhoun, Justin gained a valuable insight into the highest level of college basketball in the USA. His teammates included current NBA stars Richard Hamilton, Caron Butler, Ben Gordon and Emeka Okafor. They won the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden 3 times and his team reached the NCAA tournament every year, advancing to the Championship Game, Final Four, Elite Eight, and Sweet Sixteen. During his 4 years at UCONN he played Centre using his 7’0″ frame to dominate opposing teams. He studied a double degree in Communication Sciences and Sociology, minoring in Business and making the Athletic Directors Honour Roll on three occasions. Justin also won the teams Strength and Conditioning Award in his Junior and Senior years. Before UCONN, Justin grew up in Perth, Western Australia and was awarded an AIS scholarship in grades 11 and 12. He represented Australia at the World Junior U/20 and U/23 championships, and was a Boomers shadow squad member for the 2004 Olympics. After UCONN, he commenced a professional basketball career playing in Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece, England, Australia (Perth Wildcats and Brisbane Bullets) and China. He was a member of the Dallas Mavericks NBA Summer League team in 2004 that played against the Chinese National team featuring Yao Ming. Justin scored 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds against the 7’5″ Chinese NBA superstar. He is extremely passionate about helping the next generation of aspiring student-athletes achieve their goals in U.S. Colleges.
