Aussie Athletes Agency creates personalised opportunities for you to compete in U.S. college rowing!

What to expect when competing in U.S. college rowing:    

Spring Semester:
  • Rowing is a Spring sport, played in the second half of the U.S. school year.
  • Regattas are usually held between mid-March and mid-May.
  • You can expect to compete in approximately 8-10 regattas in an average season.
  • You will also be practicing up to 20 hours per week during the season.
Fall Semester:
  • The Fall is the off-season for rowing although regattas are held during this time.
  • You can expect to practice 8 hours a week during the majority of Fall.
  • Weight lifting and conditioning will be required in addition to technical training in preparation for the season.

 Rowing programs all over the U.S. participate under two governing bodies.

NCAA – National Collegiate Athletic Association

The NCAA endorses three divisions of men’s collegiate rowing.

Division I
  • Currently sponsor 35 men’s rowing programs
  • Financial aid is available but NCAA member institutions do not officially allocate rowing scholarships for men
Division II
  • Currently sponsor 6 men’s rowing programs
  • Financial aid is available but NCAA member institutions do not officially allocate rowing scholarships for men
Division III
  • Currently sponsor 27 men’s rowing programs
  • Financial aid is available but NCAA member institutions do not officially allocate rowing scholarships for men
NAIA – National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics

The NAIA endorses one division of men’s collegiate rowing

  • Currently sponsor 2 men’s rowing programs
  • Financial aid is available but NAIA member institutions do not officially allocate rowing scholarships for men
